Following an unfortunate flood in their home, which brought the ceiling down and damaged the kitchen, the clients were keen to update the design with something that was bespoke to their needs. Their previous kitchen had an island and unusually they wanted to replace this with a vintage farmhouse table. They loved the simple lines of the 1909 in-frame design, and chose the light and fresh China Blue painted finish, teaming this with marbled almond worktops. The couple’s deep blue Aga was retained and this contrasts beautifully with the furniture. Open shelving punctuates the runs of cabinetry to break up the lines and is the ideal place for recipe books and other chosen items. The slate flooring is a practical surface and the natural blue tones co-ordinate with the furniture and Aga. With a comfy leather settee, table and chairs, the new kitchen has become the focal area of the home.
