The clients, a professional couple with a young family, had the luxury of a large space so were able to create a beautiful design with maximum functionality. Working closely with the designer, they considered a number of options, concluding that an island would really enhance the interior and would work on a number of levels – an informal social point, a practical working area and subtle link between the kitchen and dining areas of the kitchen. They chose an elegant blend of almond and partridge grey cabinetry which are beautifully complemented with the river white granite. The shaped bulkhead reflects the bespoke shape and detail of the island cabinetry and the LED lighting illuminates this feature to great effect. The curved timber detail on the island adds warmth and is more comfortable to lean on. There’s a generous amount of storage included to ensure the worktops remain clean, including a bespoke pantry to house the essential small appliances, such as the toaster and microwave.
